Dorrigo Anglican Church
Dorrigo Anglicans are an energetic and friendly church, keen to welcome visitors and make new friends.
Our members represent a wide variety of ages and backgrounds and are committed to being the hands, feet and voice of Jesus well beyond the parish boundary.
We offer two styles of worship each Sunday:
a traditional, middle of the road Anglican Eucharist at 8 a.m. until August 31 and
- a more contemporary, family service, in the Anglican tradition at 10 a.m.
The second service recognises the absence of many mainline churches in Dorrigo and that a number of our worshippers do not come from an Anglican background.
Our worship and belief is based, firmly, on the teachings of Jesus. His desire to draw all people into a relationship with God through Him and reflects Jesus’ compassionate, accepting approach to all people.
St Stephen’s Church, in Kurrajong Street, is our main centre and we have a smaller worshipping community at Deervale, 20 minutes west of Dorrigo.
Our parish has always maintained a strong commitment to children’s ministry. An active group for primary and junior high school children meets every Wednesday afternoon and our older youth on two Sundays a month: an evening youth group and a discussion group using Rob Bell's Nooma DVD's. Seekers and new members are always made welcome.
To reflect the social nature of Dorrigo community our parish maintains a regular program of events, inviting interested people to share in our services, activities and functions.
We maintain committed outreach into local schools, Dorrigo Hospital, community and service groups.
We welcome all inquires and, especially, Sunday visitors.
