Congregation
How Dorrigo Anglicans are Celebrating Easter.

St Stephen's Parish has planned six quite different worship services to remember and celeabrate Jesus' walk to the Cross and His Resurrection.

The six relate to important aspects of those last four days.

On Maundy Thursday night parishioners will join in a simple meal, marking Jesus' last meal with His disciples in the Upper Room.

This will be followed by a brief Eucharist commemorating His institution of the Last Supper.

Afterwards, guests will be invited to move into the church to particpate in a Gethsemane Vigil.

On Friday morning another vigil will be held, marked by music, readings, prayers and an opportunity to nail confessions and prayers on a wooden cross.

Easter celebrations begin at dawn with the Lighting of the New Fire of Easter, on the edge of Escarpment at Griffith Look-out.

Weather permitting, worshippers will be able to watch the sun rise from the Pacific Ocean.

The service will follow an Australian bush tradition using a bashwalker's stove, enamel plate and mug and, possibly, damper.

A combined Family Easter Eucharist will be held in St Stephen's at 9 a.m. and another Eucharist at Deervale Church at 2 p.m.

St Stephen's Choir will be support our worship at several of our services.

ALL SERVICES ARE OPEN TO ANYONE AND EVERY PERSON WHO COMES WILL BE MADE ESPECIALLY WELCOME.
