More than 500 people packed Christ Church Cathedral, Grafton, and surrounds on Saturday for the consecration of Dr Sarah Macneil as the 11th bishop of our Diocese.
She also became the first woman Diocesan bishop in the history of the Anglican Church of Australia.
Worshippers and supporters came from all over the country and as far as the U.K.
Dorrigo Parish was represented by Rev. Mike and Steph and several parishioners.
What a day and what an atmosphere!
A great sense of celebration and, according to some, the beginning of a new, positive, creative era in Anglicanism on the North Coast of NSW.
Bp Sarah with her husband, Rev. Ian Chaplin, already know a surprising amount about Dorrigo Parish and the surrounding area and are looking forward to visiting us during the year.
Please pray for them as they settle in.
