Take Time Out for God this Lent

I don't know about you but I can't believe that Lent is nearly upon us - what happened to January?!!!!

It's certainly been a busy start to the year and it's very easy to find ourselves rushing around "doing stuff" and missing the time to spend with Our Heavenly Father.

This Lent at St Stephens we offer you the opportunity to slow down and take time for God Lent is a time of turning back to God and seeking him with all of our hearts - the scriptures promise us that we will seek him and find him when we seek him with all of our hearts.

We can seek him in prayer and worship by attending one of a variety of services we are offering this lent - be it our Ash Wednesday communion service on 18th February at 8.30am or a quiet and reflective Taize service on Palm Sunday evening at 7pm on 29th March.

Or maybe you would like to join us to pray with us for an hour on Thursday 5th March at 9am at our monthly church prayer meeting.

There is also a great opportunity to study as we start a course called Pilgrim and think about the prayer that Jesus taught us - The Lord's Prayer - our two study groups meet on Wednesdays at 9.30 in church or Thursday 3pm at the Rectory and ALL are welcome whether new to church or familiar with study.

Finally,  we have the opportunity to give during Lent with our mission for the month and also to give to God's work through our Sunday worship as we support and uphold the mission and ministry of our parish.

So as we pray and as we study and as we give generously;  may we take time to be with our Lord this Lent and in the words of the Psalmist  may we "Be still and know that I am God " (Psalm 46 v 10)

Have a Holy Lent

Blessings in Jesus
